UA's civil, construction, and environmental engineering is a future-focused program built on a long tradition where engineering instruction began in 1837. Today, over 500 undergraduate students are in the department pursuing either their BS in civil or construction engineering, with many of these students also seeking a minor in architectural, civil, construction, environmental and water resources, structural, or transportation engineering. In addition to our strong undergraduate programs, the department has nearly 100 masters and doctoral students seeking advanced degrees. The department’s faculty is among the best and excel in teaching, research, and service. Many members of the faculty have received national and international recognition for their contributions to the profession.
