The University Scholars Program (Dual BS/MS) is designed specifically for highly motivated and qualified undergraduates who wish to pursue a master’s degree. Any undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor’s degree offered by the department in civil engineering, construction engineering, architectural engineering or environmental engineering with at least a 3.3 overall GPA is eligible for the University Scholars Program.
Students must apply and be admitted to the Graduate School during their junior year. Once accepted, students may take up to nine credit hours of approved graduate level coursework that will count towards both their bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Interested students should consult with a faculty member or the department’s graduate program assistance. Students may apply for either the master’s degree programs in civil engineering or environmental engineering as part of the University Scholars Program.
Undergraduate civil engineering students who want to participate in the University Scholars (BS/MS) Program must:
- Complete at least 91 credit hours towards the bachelor’s degree (transfer credit hours not included)
- Maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale
