The University of Alabama's Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering offers two separate bachelor of science (BS) degrees. The BS in civil engineering is one of the oldest in the country and is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET. The BS in Construction Engineering was approved in 2006 and produced its first graduate in 2008. EAC/ABET accreditation of the construction engineering program will be sought in 2009/2010.

In addition to the two BS degree programs, the department also offers minors in architectural engineering, civil engineering, construction engineering, environmental and water resources engineering, structural engineering, and transportation engineering. For our top students who maintain a minimum 3.3 GPA, the department also offers a departmental honors program and a dual BS/MS (Scholars) program.
